Refund a sale

A customer changes their mind, buys the same product twice by mistake, or asks for their money back under your guarantee. You can refund them in a few clicks from your dashboard, without opening Stripe or PayPal.

Refund a sale

  1. Open the Sales page of your dashboard.
  2. Hover over the sale and click the ⋮ menu at the end of its row.
  3. Click Refund.
  4. Check the amount and the customer's name in the window that opens, then click Confirm.

The full amount of that line goes back to the card or account your customer paid with, and the sale shows a Refunded label. A refund can't be undone, which is why TinyPages asks you to confirm first.

One line, one refund

Each line of the Sales page is refunded on its own. When a customer bought a product with an order bump, the product and the order bump are two separate lines. Refund the order bump alone, and your customer keeps the product they paid for. Refund both lines, and the whole order is returned.

Good to know

  • Only the account owner and admins can refund a sale. Team members with the Member role don't see the Refund option.
  • A refund gives the money back, it doesn't close your customer's access. If you also want to remove them from your member area, see Managing your members.
  • Refunding a subscription payment doesn't stop the subscription. To stop the payments, cancel it from your product's member list (see Managing your members), or your customer can cancel it from their member area.
  • On the free plan, the TinyPages commission on that sale is refunded along with it.
  • If your payment account doesn't have enough funds to cover the refund, TinyPages lets you know. Add funds to it, then try again.
