Payment Modes

TinyPages gives you three ways to price and collect payment for your products. You choose the payment mode when setting up a product, and it determines how buyers pay at checkout.

One-time payment

The buyer pays a single fixed amount and gets permanent access. This is the simplest and most common pricing model for digital products and courses. Setting the price to $0 makes the product completely free — buyers still go through a lightweight checkout (just name and email) to receive access.

Subscription

The buyer pays on a recurring schedule — monthly, annually, or both. The checkout page shows a period selector with Monthly and Annual tabs. The buyer fills in their card details once and completes the payment. From that point forward, they are billed automatically on the schedule they selected — monthly or annually — until they cancel.

Free trial

If you configure a free trial on a subscription product, the buyer still goes through the same checkout and enters their card details — but no charge is made at that point. They get immediate access to the product, and billing starts automatically once the trial period ends.

Managing subscriptions

Members can view and cancel their active subscriptions directly from their member portal at any time. You can view all subscriptions and their status in your Stripe dashboard.

Split payment

The total price is divided into equal payments billed automatically over time — for example, 3 payments of $33 instead of $99 upfront. The checkout page shows a toggle that lets the buyer choose between paying in full or with split payment. If they choose split payment, they see something like "3 payments of $97" with the total shown below. They fill in their card details once. The first payment is charged immediately at checkout; the remaining payments are billed automatically on schedule without any action from the buyer or from you.

Configuring split payment

When setting up a product, select Split payment as the payment mode. You can configure:

  • The total price
  • The number of payments (up to 6)
  • The billing interval (weekly, monthly)

TinyPages calculates the per-payment amount automatically.

If a scheduled payment fails

If a scheduled payment fails (for example, a card is expired), Stripe automatically retries the charge and notifies the buyer. You can view the status of all split payment plans in your Stripe dashboard.

What happens if a payment fails at checkout?

If a card is declined or the payment fails for any reason, TinyPages shows a clear, friendly error message directly on the checkout page. The buyer can correct their details and try again without starting over or leaving the page.

Your role as the creator

You don't need to handle anything manually. Stripe processes the payment, TinyPages creates the member account and purchase record, and the buyer receives access — all automatically. You can view all purchases and revenue in your Stripe dashboard.
