Tags
Tags are labels you attach to contacts to group and segment your audience. They're simple and flexible, and they connect several parts of TinyPages together.
How tags are assigned
A tag can be added to a contact in four ways:
- Automatically when someone subscribes via an Email Capture block — configure a tag directly in the Email Capture block settings. Everyone who submits that form receives the tag.
- Automatically when someone submits a Form — if the Form includes an email field, you can assign a tag through the form's destination settings. When someone submits the form, the tag is applied to their contact.
- Automatically when someone purchases a product — every product has a dedicated tag automation. When a contact buys a product, the corresponding tag is assigned automatically.
- Manually from the contact detail page — open any contact in your dashboard and add or remove tags by hand.
What tags drive
Tags connect multiple parts of TinyPages together:
- Audience targeting in broadcasts — send an email only to contacts with a specific tag, or exclude a tagged group
- Automation triggers — each tag has its own automation. When the tag is assigned, the automation starts immediately
- Evergreen deadlines — a tag assignment can trigger a personalized countdown timer per contact
Naming your tags
Use clear, descriptive names that reflect the contact's behavior or status. Good examples: free-course-subscriber, waitlist-may-launch, customer-program-x, webinar-june. Avoid vague names — you'll thank yourself later when you're setting up broadcasts and automations.
