Triggers
Every automation has a built-in trigger — the event that starts the automation for a contact. TinyPages creates three types of automations, each with its own trigger.
Product automation
Trigger: A contact purchases the corresponding product.
A product automation fires the moment someone completes checkout for that product. Use it to welcome new members, deliver onboarding content, or guide buyers through their first steps with the program.
Tag automation
Trigger: A specific tag is assigned to a contact.
A tag automation fires the moment a contact receives the corresponding tag — whether automatically via an Email Capture form, via a product purchase, or manually from the dashboard. This makes tag automations incredibly flexible: you can trigger them from any point in your funnel.
Use cases:
- A free email course delivered over 5 days (tag assigned on form subscription)
- A nurture automation for waitlist subscribers (tag assigned via landing page)
- A re-engagement automation for contacts who attended a webinar (tag assigned manually)
New Contact automation
Trigger: Any new contact is added to your list, regardless of source.
The New Contact automation fires automatically whenever someone new joins your audience — via a form, a purchase, or a manual import. It's the perfect place to introduce yourself, set expectations, and deliver your best content to every new person who finds you.
How triggers fire
As soon as the trigger event occurs, TinyPages enrolls the contact in the automation and sends the Day 0 email immediately. Subsequent emails are queued and sent automatically on the days you've configured.
See Paid course launch and Evergreen launch for complete examples of automations in action.
