Audience Targeting

Before sending an email, you choose exactly who receives it using the Send to field and an optional exclusion filter.

Send to

The Send to field lets you define your recipients. You can choose to send to:

  • Everyone — your entire active contact list (the default)
  • All customers — contacts who have purchased at least one product
  • A specific tag — only contacts who have that tag assigned
  • Buyers of a specific product — only contacts who purchased a particular product

You can select one or more of these options to build your audience.

Excluding contacts

To exclude a segment, enable the Exclude contacts toggle. Once it's on, select the tags or segments you want to exclude — anyone matching those criteria will be skipped, even if they're in your "Send to" audience.

This is useful for:

  • Excluding existing customers from a "buy now" email (they've already purchased)
  • Skipping subscribers who opted out of a specific campaign
  • Avoiding double-messaging contacts who are already in a relevant automation

Checking your audience count

After setting your targeting, TinyPages shows you the number of contacts who will receive the email. Review this before sending — it's a quick sanity check to make sure your rules are working as expected.
